Landed in style
This year, Givenchy Teint Couture Cushion has added more festive cheer to the beauty lovers here in Singapore. It is evident in the overwhelming response with first batch of cushions sold out within the first week and the crowds turning up at the weekly events during the Givenchy Beauty Revolution at Sephora.
For it is not another beauty launch; it is an exclusive launch of Givenchy Beauty’s Teint Couture Cushion in Singapore first before the worldwide launch in February 2016. It is also to celebrate Givenchy Beauty’s 10th Anniversary. The three-week long launch, Givenchy Beauty Revolution features a line-up of exciting activities at Sephora, ringing in the new year in style from 12 December 2015 to 2 January 2016!
When I first saw it two months ago over lunch with the Givenchy Singapore team, lunch pretty much stopped there. No amount of my favourite sushi could tempt me. Haha! I was curious how it will differ from the makeup cushions I have in my stash, I couldn’t wait to check out this magnetic beauty. The beauty that is in most of our make-up bags now. And here’s why.
3 reasons to have it in the Make-up Bag
Press and Release Convenience
Fuss-free, hands clean, a switch from traditional base makeup application is now well-adjusted into the makeup routine by many at home, touch-up, after gym, long day, after work etc. It is perhaps the reason why portable make-up cushions have taken the beauty scene by storm in 2015. And with Teint Couture Cushion, it is not just easy but also hygienic application as it boasts the 4G metal plate technology which protects the formula from the air, keeping the foundation fresh and delivers just the right amount of fluid foundation.
Touching-up foundation over powder doesn’t sound like a great idea for many but if it is kept ‘fresh’, non-cakey, lightweight and does the job, it is an added option. Though I must say that we probably don’t need much of a touch-up with this cushion as I find it lasting with light to medium coverage. It has long-wearing pigments, active skincare ingredients and a perfecting “blur’ effect such as Commiphora Oil, Glycol, Polymer Beads and Blur and Glow Complex. And the result is fresh glowing skin in satin finish.
Whether it’s that makeup pouch, the leather-case lippy, the exquisitely-designed compact powder or accessories, they do make a statement. And in the case of this sleek beauty, it is an addition from the existing Givenchy Teint Couture family, starting from the fluid foundation, balm, concealer and now cushion. So, I’ve added it into my bag for that aristocratic elegance and chic.
The G factor
With so many cushions available in the beauty scene, how does it differ? Firstly, it is a foundation, not a bb cream as seen in most brands of cushions. It is from the Teint Couture family, a fluid foundation made portable. I like that it is “fresh”, with the foundation protected by the metal plate. Though not the only cushion that boasts the technology of metal plate, it is definitely one of the firsts and a trend-setter with the distinctive luxury of 4G logo design on it.
A clever touch-up cushion and style statement, adding the modern twist to wearing couture.
And I leave you here with some fond memories of mine in 2015. I was privileged to be invited as the model for the Beauty Soiree. Had fun collaborating with Givenchy’s International Makeup Artist, Hocine Zeghichi who specially flew in from Paris for this show and meeting up with some of my readers. A sweet and talented soul, Hocine transformed my look with the Teint Couture Cushion and Holiday Makeup Collection 2015.
Comes in 4 shades (S$83), it retails exclusively at Sephora, Ion Orchard.
